Kelley Wolf Pens Apology to Family and Park City Community, Revealing ‘Drug-Induced Mania With Psychosis’ Resulted in Attempt To Enter Family Home

Kelley Wolf has opened up about the circumstances that lead to a court-issued restraining order against her last August, following an attempt to enter the home of her ex-husband, actor Scott Wolf.

In an Aug. 29 Instagram statement, the “Real World: New Orleans” alum explained that after a year spent working with a team of professionals—including doctors, therapists, psychologists, and healers—she has answers surrounding the situation that left her banned from contacting the three children she shares with Scott: Jackson, 17, Miller, 13, and Lucy, 12.

“It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help,” Kelley wrote.

The 49-year-old podcast host went on to describe her mental health at the time.

“I felt like my brain had been hijacked, and the world was moving at the speed of a freight train,” the mom of three continued. “It turns out that is exactly what happened, but I didn’t know it.”

“I had no awareness of my actions. I was completely delusional, and it was hitting critical mass.”

Kelley described the situation as “breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis,” noting that it was not something she had previously experienced, and was “caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications. A perfect storm.”

In the statement, Kelley apologized for taking Scott “through a nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script,” calling the struggle “so brutal” while acknowledging the pain she caused.

“My brain turned on me,” she continued. “In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder. I have spent my life believing in love, hope, kindness, and compassion. What I became was the opposite. Cruel. Vicious. Mean.”

Kelley also admitted to a prior-held belief that she “was in the CIA” and “running for President” before illustrating the impact the situation has on her today.

“I will always hold a sadness, a grief, a reality that everything I loved was hurt, everything I have known was lost, and what is left is a place of what I hope can be redemption and grace and purpose,” she wrote.

Kelley noted that her hope in sharing her story is to provide representation for anyone who may relate. She used the Instagram post as an opportunity to speak publicly to her family and friends.

“The things I did caused harm I deeply regret, and you still have found a way to forgive,” she wrote.

The Utah resident also took a moment to address her local community.

“To our community of Park City, this has been our home for 20 years, and hurting you was like burning down my own house,” Kelley wrote. “Thank you for loving our family and continuing to prove why this is a place where we found the meaning of home.”

In June 2025, Kelley was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold in Utah after reportedly displaying erratic behavior just days after Scott filed for divorce after more than 20 years of marriage.

In the weeks following, Scott filed—and then withdrew—a restraining order against Kelley.

The couple agreed to a temporary custody agreement involving their three children before Kelley was arrested over electronic harassment, after allegedly sharing Scott’s personal contact information in a social media post.

In a since-deleted Instagram post from August 2025, Kelley had shared footage while driving to the family’s home to “retrieve some basic items.”

The situation left Kelley banned from direct or indirect contact with Scott, Jackson, Miller, and Lucy. Later that fall, Kelley received mental health treatment at two different Utah-based facilities.

Although Kelley and Scott are no longer romantically involved, the family’s circumstances seem to have improved over time.

In a shared Feb. 20 Instagram post, Scott and Kelley posted an update in the form of a wholesome photo of the family of five smiling for the camera at Universal Studios. The caption simply stated, “Healing,” noting that the family had “an epic day at the park” together.

Scott also publicly replied to Kelley’s reflective Instagram statement, commenting with a series of red heart emojis.
