“The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” alum Teddi Mellencamp has had to undergo emergency surgery after doctors discovered multiple tumors on her brain.
Bravo star Mellencamp, 43, shared her terrifying diagnosis in a social media post on Feb. 12, revealing that the tumors were discovered after she went to the hospital to get treatment for “severe and debilitating headaches” that had been plaguing her for “several weeks.”
“After a CT scan and MRI, doctors found multiple tumors on my brain, which they believe have been growing for at least six months,” the daughter of singer John Mellencamp wrote, adding that doctors would attend to remove the two biggest tumors in an initial procedure, before tackling the rest “via radiation at a later date.
“I am blessed to be surrounded by my children, family, friends, doctors, nurses and surgeons who are doing everything possible to get me back into better help,” she added.
The diagnosis marks the latest bump in what has been a rough road for Mellencamp of late, coming just three months after she announced she was divorcing her husband of 13 years, Edwin Arroyave, and would be temporarily moving into her close friend Kyle Richards‘ home for a few nights a week while she and her spouse iron out their split.

Still, the separation did not stop Arroyave, 47, from rushing to his estranged wife’s bedside, posting an image of himself posing with Mellencamp and sharing prayers for a swift recovery.
Mellencamp, who shares three children with Arroyave—Slate, 12, Cruz, 10, and Dove, 4—was also joined in hospital by Richards, 56, whose Encino home she has been living in for at least two days a week since early December.
Mellencamp first revealed that she was “living at Kyle’s” in a Dec. 5 episode of her “Diamonds in the Rough” podcast with fellow Bravo star Erika Jayne, saying at the time: “Thankfully, Kyle has let me do that.”
She added that, because her and Arroyave’s marital home—which they purchased in 2020 for $6.5 million—is so close to Richards’ own Encino property, she can “just zip on over” whenever she needs to, adding that the living arrangement “works out really well for the kids.”
In a recent interview, Richards clarified that Mellencamp is not living in her home full-time, joking during an episode of Bravo’s “Hot Mic Podcast” that she has “shared custody” of her fellow reality starlet.
“I have shared custody with Teddi Mellencamp. She lives with me on Tuesdays and Wednesdays,” she said, noting that this arrangement allows Mellencamp and Arroyave to continue coparenting their children without too much upheaval.
On the days when Mellencamp was scheduled to care for the children, she would return to her seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom marital home, which is also located in Encino and boasts a 50-foot pool, spa, cabana, waterfall, massage room, putting green, and basketball court.
It also features oak wood floors, a stunning chef’s kitchen with quartz countertops, and a walk-in pantry.
“Pass through the gates to the residence, where 24′ ceilings soar above the entry hall. Light-filled interiors showcase wide plank oak wood floors, custom cabinetry, satin brass finishes and book-match stone fireplaces,” the original listing described.
“Seven bedrooms include the spectacular master suite with sitting room, built-in bar with fridge, incredible walk-in closet, soaking tub and terrace. Additional home features include, surround sound, Control4 Home Automation system, full outdoor kitchen, and three-car garage.”

When Mellencamp decided to move out of the home and began looking for a new abode nearby, Richards—who went through her own separation with ex Mauricio Umansky, 54, in May 2024—suggested that she move into her “divorce room.”
“She was having to go look for a place and, you know, I’m walking distance to both [Dorit Kemsley] and Teddi. And she was looking for someplace, and before she found a place, she said, ‘Can I stay at your house Tuesday and Wednesday? I need to find someplace,'” Richards explained on “Hot Mic.”
“And I said, ‘Why wouldn’t you just stay here? Why would you go spend the money? I mean, I have a big house. I have a guesthouse. That’s silly.’ So, that’s how that started.”
She went on to explain that Mellencamp is staying in the upstairs room, which is the same room she and Umansky used when they were together
Richards’ property is a gorgeous seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom home that measures 10,600 square feet.
The 56-year-old and Umansky purchased the property in 2017 for $8.25 million, and it quickly became their family home up until their separation.
The front of the gated property features lush landscaping that creates a topiary garden and a stunning fountain that leads up to the entrance.
Inside, guests are welcomed with an expansive living area adorned with white wall molding and sophisticated furniture.
There are three en suites that are adjacent to the luxe master suite, which has a balcony that overlooks the property’s grounds.
The home also boasts eight fireplaces, formal living and dining spaces, a state-of-the-art open kitchen, a home theater, library, and two powder rooms.

Outside, there is a lavish pool, a picnic gazebo, a running creek, and a guesthouse.
The original listing notes that the home perfectly honors the “famed music legend “Smokey Robinson Estate” with a thoughtful renovation and expansion, crafting the ultimate trophy residence with unparalleled grace, and grandeur that matches Smokey’s inimitable style.”
Following their divorce, Richards stayed in the home while Umansky left and moved into an apartment.
However, Richards has hinted that she and Umansky may end up selling the property, with the reality star admitting in a recent episode of “RHOBH After Show”: “We still have not filed for divorce or anything, but … we have had more conversations about like, ‘What should we do?
“‘Should I still live where I’m living? Should we sell the house and each go buy two new homes? Or do we keep the house, because it is such a special property and just each go our different ways?’
“We’re discussing those things now, which we did not before,” she said in a recent episode of the “RHOBH After Show.”
Mellencamp’s shocking health revelation comes just over a year after she underwent surgery to treat her Stage 2 melanoma.
In December 2023, Mellencamp revealed she was recovering from a “wide excision melanoma” and “soft tissue defect reconstruction,” which is a procedure that removed the affected skin from her shoulder and “replaced it with a flap of skin from below on my back.”
