Philadelphia Eagles star Saquon Barkley has won his very first Super Bowl ring—but not before putting a ring on the finger of his longtime girlfriend, Anna Congdon, in a sweet proposal just weeks before the NFL championship game.

It has been a year of major life milestones for the the newly minted 2025 Offensive Player of the Year, who began his career with the New York Giants before transferring to Philadelphia in 2024, signing a three-year contract worth $37.75 million with the team.

Barkley more than proved his value at the 2025 Super Bowl, when he helped to propel the Eagles to a sensational victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, setting a new NFL single-season rushing record in the process, according to the Associated Press.

And while Barkley, 27, who shares two children with Congdon, certainly splashed out a fair amount of cash on his partner’s dazzling engagement ring, there’s undoubtedly a hefty chunk left—which begs the question: Is a full-time Philadelphia home next on his shopping list?

Thus far in his career, the football pro has been relatively modest about his property purchases, opting to use one of his first paychecks from the Giants not for himself, but to buy a home for his parents.

Barkley, who was born in New York but spent most of his childhood in Whitehall, PA, spent $425,000 on the four-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom dwelling in his hometown—although Realtor.com® estimates the home is now worth around $700,000.

“I’ve been promising my mom, I think since I could talk, honestly 2 or 3 years old—I know it sounds crazy, but I swear I’m not lying to you guys—that I’m going to buy [her] a house one day,” Barkley said at the time, per ESPN.

However, it remains to be seen if he will then attempt to find a marital mansion near his team’s stadium—having purchased a $425,000 Pennsylvania abode for his parents in 2018.

“My family has been through so much and made so many sacrifices for my brothers and sisters. And that’s not it. That’s not the last thing I’m going to be able to do for my family. That’s a great thing.”

But what of his own abode?

Over the years, rumors have abounded about Barkley’s alleged property purchases—with some reports suggesting that he was the unnamed buyer of pop star Kevin Jonas‘ former New Jersey mansion, which sold for $2.25 million back in 2018.

However, property records indicate that was not the case.

That same year, the New York Post reported that Barkley had toured a 51st-floor penthouse apartment in a Manhattan high-rise apartment building, which was on the market for $12.99 million; but a purchase was never confirmed.

Then, in 2020, while still playing for the Giants, Barkley was rumored to have expanded his real estate portfolio by acquiring a $3.5 million luxury penthouse in Jersey City, NJ.

Although Barkley and Congdon would undoubtedly be welcome to stay at his parents’ abode with their two children, the likelihood is that the newly engaged couple will be aiming to find a marital home they can call their own, particularly given that the NFL star’s future with the Eagles looks so bright.

Speaking to People about his engagement, Barkley credited Congdon with his success, telling the outlet: “I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have so in my career without the help of her.

“She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.

“And it’s a beautiful thing because we have two amazing children that we were raised it and we just sit back and laugh sometimes when they’re over there playing and just smile and think about where everything started.”

Barkley and Congdon are both very familiar with Philadelphia and its surrounding areas, having met when they were studying at Penn State in 2017.

Rumors of Barkley’s alleged property purchases have abounded since he joined the NFL, with one report suggesting he’d toured a $13 million penthouse in New York in 2018.

Other reports suggested he’d purchased Kevin Jonas’ former mansion back in 2018; however, records show this was not the case.

Luckily, the duo, who met at Penn State and began dating in 2017, are well versed with the local area.

Barkley, who was born in the Bronx, moved with his family to suburban Pennsylvania when he was 5 years old; and he played football at Whitehall High School.

In 2018, after setting multiple school records at Penn State, he left college to enter the NFL draft, although he eventually finished his degree in 2022, adding to his list of accomplishments.

“I also thought it would be good to get my degree to set an example for my siblings and my family,” he told People.

The talented running back was plucked as the No. 2 pick for the New York Giants. He reportedly signed a four-year, rookie contract, reportedly worth $31.2 million, and played with the team for six years.

Now that he’s relocated with a team in Pennsylvania, where both he and his wife grew up, he may choose to settle close to his parents in the Philly suburbs or even the ‘burbs of New Jersey for a large spread that’s also convenient to Lincoln Financial Field, where the Eagles play home games.

That quest could lead him over to such upscale enclaves as Moorestown, NJ, or Haddonfield, NJ, where other sports celebrities have put down roots—and where Eagles coach Nick Sirianni has a home.

Or he may take a page out of quarterback Jalen Hurts‘ playbook. The signal caller was last known to be renting a luxury unit in Cherry Hill, NJ, so the options to live near teammates abound.

Along with house-hunting plans, Barkley also celebrated his birthday on Feb. 9, the same day as the Super Bowl. But thinking about birthday cake and blowing out candles was not top of mind for the player, who previously told People he’s in “Super Bowl mode.”

“The best birthday gift you can have is playing in the Super Bowl and the only thing better than that is winning the Super Bowl on your birthday,” he said.

“So plans before or after…I really don’t have any idea or any game plan at all. I’m really just focusing on going out there and playing this game and trying to continue to play at a high level.”
