“Moneyball” star Jonah Hill has been at the center of much public speculation over his shrinking waistline—but now the Hollywood A-lister is scaling back something very different: the price of his quirky Malibu, CA, home.

The 40-year-old actor and comedian just sliced a sweet $750,000 from the asking price of his four-bedroom, beachfront property six weeks after it hit the market for $16.7 million.

Now, the historic, 3,100-square-foot home with stunning coastline views carries a (still-hefty) price tag of $15.9 million—although it remains to be seen whether the sizable discount will help Hill to shift the property.

Certainly the home boasts plenty of charm, particularly for those with a hankering for waterfront living.

Don’t be fooled by the property’s unassuming front exterior, which gives little away about the colorful oasis that awaits behind the front doors.

Charm and history mingle beautifully here, for a waterside retreat that’s comfy yet refined. Tucked behind guarded gates as part of Malibu Colony, the home’s entry is also partially obscured by some lush greenery.

High ceilings, a curved fireplace, and bright white walls dominate the living area, but color makes a bold appearance thanks to canary yellow paint in the sunroom and kitchen. Whimsical tiles (peppers, bananas, a strawberry!) dot the stove hood and backsplash, and there’s a convenient pantry, too.

There’s a small den with a Dutch door that allows salty air to breeze in. Meanwhile, a secondary living room with a baby blue ceiling is situated nearby. There are two main-level bedrooms, and the primary suite is upstairs, complete with a pitched ceiling, big closet, and a private deck that overlooks the ocean.

Other amenities include a home movie theater with a projector, screen, and surround sound. But the property’s most coveted feature is its direct beach access, just steps from the door. After a quick swim or surf, the sauna, outdoor cedar tub, and deck are the perfect spots to retreat.

There’s adorable veggie and fruit accent tile in the kitchen.

The property provided the ideal escape for Hill, who is known to be an avid surfer—and is regularly seen hitting the waves in the Malibu area.

The actor burst onto the scene with his role in 2007’s “Superbad,” though he’s also made his name in such flicks as “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and “The Wolf of Wall Street.” More recently, he appeared in “Don’t Look Up,” with Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, and Leonardo DiCaprio.

He also comes from a talented family as his sister, Beanie Feldstein, is an accomplished actor herself (“Booksmart,” “Ladybird”), and can sing—she starred in “Hello Dolly” on Broadway.

Hill’s latest real estate sale comes two years after he put another sprawling Malibu property up for sale—a contemporary mansion that he listed for $14.9 million back in 2022.
