‘Selling Sunset’ Alum Christine Quinn Reveals Why She Quit California and Moved Back to Texas
"Selling Sunset" alum Christine Quinn has revealed why she quit California and moved to Dallas as she dished on all of her favorite things about living back in the South.
The 37-year-old became one of the most divisive women on TV when she was cast as the villain in her five-season run on the Netflix real estate drama, which premiered in 2019 and is now in its ninth season.
However, after leaving The Oppenheim Group and the show, Quinn packed up and moved south to the Lone Star State in search of a fresh start—and a return to life as she once knew it.
While speaking to the Dallas Morning News, Quinn revealed that her decision was prompted by not only a desire to get out of California, but also a need to get back to her roots, noting that many viewers might not have realized that she's a Texas native.
"A lot of people don't know that I'm actually from Texas originally. So I grew up here, and I went to Southlake Carroll. A lot of people don't know that," she said. "My family still lives in the same house that I grew up in, and I live in the area. I'm a suburb gal."

"Dallas is like my home and Fort Worth as well," she said of her love for the Lone Star State.
She then showcased her favorite spots in the area for a girl's night out.
"My favorite place to have a girl's night out, there's so many spots. The Gaylord, love that. Hotel Vin in Grapevine, love that.
"I love going to Fort Worth, too. I'm like a Billy Bob's, sloppy drunk, Jell-O shots, absolutely love that. And then afterward, I would say White Elephant just to boot scoot and boogie, right? Those are some of my favorite places," the real estate agent said.
But Quinn loves more than the partying scene that Texas has to offer. She also loves the shopping spots.
Although she does most of her shopping online, Quinn noted that there are shopping centers that she can't get enough of.
"My favorite? Online. I'm tired. I'm a mom, girl, online. But, if I have to pick one, I'll say Southlake Town Square. Just because it's convenient and fabulous," she said.
"I love a good fountain here and there, and you know, I like to be outdoors. I like the breeze. I like the breeze in my weave, you know. I'm an outdoor gal of the sort."

Quinn's confessions came weeks after Season 9 of "Selling Sunset" premiered and offered fans plenty of drama.
Shortly after its release, fan-favorite Chrishell Stause revealed during an interview with Bustle that she has made the decision to step away from the reality drama, which she has been a regular on since its 2019 premiere, citing a desire to better protect her own mental well-being.
She admitted that she has seriously considered exiting the Netflix project on multiple occasions in the past, but noted that the allure of a big payday always prevented her from cutting ties with the show once and for all.
“I’ve vacillated back and forth with this decision in the past," she said. "I have to be honest—having come from nothing, it’s really hard to turn something like this down."
Now, however, Stause said she can prioritize her mental health above all else because "Selling Sunset" no longer serves as her primary source of income.
“I’ve gotten to a place where I don’t need the show financially. I’m lucky to have other forms of employment, because it’s no longer good for my mental health," she said.

Although "Selling Sunset" has yet to be renewed for a 10th season, Stause emphasized that she wishes her castmates the best if they do move forward with another installment.
“If they do continue, I wish them the best. If they do do another one, by then, I may not watch it. I don’t know. But I have no ill will toward the show. The show has given me so many opportunities, and I don’t want to be bitter about it, even though I’m leaving not in the way that I would’ve loved," she admitted.
The real estate agent also addressed her departure from the show on Instagram, telling fans, "Although the season ended on a bit of a sour note, I will truly always be SO grateful to this show. It introduced me to you guys and l am deeply thankful for your support.
"There were lots of fun memories I am going to focus on from here on out and you will see me again so it's not goodbye. Just goodbye for now."
The news came after she hinted that she was leaving the series in an interview with Variety.
Stause said that she "liked this season." However, she was "excited to move on from this chapter.”
“The reunion was so brutal. In that moment, I realized I will be done here going forward. I wish everyone the best, but this isn’t the place for me. It felt a little bit like a dog pile," she added.
